We are pleased to invite you to the MIDCON IASO Conference at Shillong. Shillong was referred to as 'Scotland of the East' by the British, as it reminded them of the rolling hills of Scotland. Shillong is the cosmopolitan capital city of Meghalaya, which means 'Abode of the clouds'. This is the first time a major IASO conference is being held in Northeast India and would give you all a peek into this wonderful region of our country. The conference will be held with physical participation of all delegates and faculty.
We expect around 250 to 300 participants for this conference, which will be held at the State Convention Centre/Pinewood Hotel, Shillong on 26th and 27th of March 2022. We will also have a pre-conference video workshop on 25th March at the same venue and an EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) workshop at NEIGRIHMS. This conference will focus on core surgical oncology. The theme of the conference is 'Skill Sets in Surgical Oncology', wherein we plan to focus on the various skills a surgical oncologist needs to acquire. Skills required to address cancers of various organs of the body will be elaborated upon under the sub heads: Indications/utility for the skill; skill development; Tips and Tricks; Troubleshooting; Safety, etc. Not only the basic skills but the advanced, including the latest technological and clinical advances, will be discussed by the best in the field.
After a long break imposed on us by Covid-19, it is time for us to travel and experience the joys of a physical conference, wherein we can meet the faculty and other friends in person. Shillong being a mesmerising hill station, with a pleasant climate and fresh air, would be the perfect setting for this. We look forward to your active participation in the conference and long lasting memories of Meghalaya.
