Crossing newer “Frontiers” at Lataguri.
This year Oncologist across Bengal along Surgical Oncologist from across India converged at Lataguri in the cold weather from 20-21st January 2023 for the Zonal Conference of Indian Association of Surgical Oncology and Bengal Cancer Summit 2023 organised by the Oncological Society of Bengal (OSB) with the theme: Frontiers of Organ Preservation. The conference was attended by over 100 faculty across specialities.
Inauguration ceremony was done by Chief Guest Brigadier Dr R. Gangavatiker (GI surgeon) in the august presence of Dr Prafulla Kumar Das (President, IASO), Dr Rajendra Toprani (Immediate Past President, IASO), Dr Lalatendu Sarangi(Past President), Dr Sharad Desai (Vice President, IASO), Dr K Chandramohan (Secretary, IASO), Dr P B Kar (Secretary, OSB) and Dr Shaikat Gupta (Organising Secretary).
The prestigious “Sudharani Sengupta Memorial Oration” was delivered by IASO President Dr Prafulla Kumar Das on “Evolution of Management of N0 groin-how much is less?”Surprise event was the official launch of “The Bengal Association of Surgical Oncology” (BAS0) with office bearers Dr Shaikat Gupta (President, BASO), Dr Arnab Bhattacharya (Vice President, BASO), Dr Suvadip Chakrabarti (Secretary , BASO) and Dr Sanjay Sen(Treasurer, BASO).
Two day full conference covering subsite Lung, breast, genitourinary, gynaec malignancies on Day 1. (20/01/2023) Banquet was well attended with full enthusiasm and camaraderie on the cold night with bonfire. Day 2 covered the subsite of Head and Neck, Pancreas, Oesophagus, Stomach, Rectum.Over the two days faculties availed jungle safaris in the scenic jungle of Lataguri.
